 WHAT WE CAN BRING TO YOUR EVENT

 

The Re-enactors in UK Homefront  bring a wealth of experience to your event, all eager, enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

Our display is one of the largest Homefront displays in the country and covers an amazing variety of area's.

The section can provida a wide range of characters portraying the ordinary working man and woman, munitions workers, spivs, government officials, RAF officers or soldiers on leave with their wives and girlfriends, or land army.

An L.D.V. Unit, a US Navy petty officer, British or French Navy members, Mum and a genuine 1940's pram, Warden and Fire Watch also a member of the WAAF.

We can provide a comprehensive static display of items from ,and used in the War period which have been shown at many events.

These include Gas Mask, Ration Books, and I.D. Cards, pots and pans stretching all the way to a dolly tub, dolly peg and posser, not forgetting the Mangle.

Other static displays can include 1940's toys, women's clothing and hats.

A display of WW2 Navy uniforms from different countries also a small military static display, the list is endless.

1. A Demonstration of Gas Mask with all the various types being on show and a talk on Air Raids.

2. Food and Rationing during the war, with some examples of the favourite foods.

3. A Display of 1940's Ladies Clothes and Hats and much more.

4. A Display of Authentic WW2 Sailor's uniforms and a Navy Hammock.

5. A Small display of WW2  weapons and a soldier's equipment.

6. During all events members of our section will be mingling with the public to give that real 1940's feel to your event.

7. A 1940's Wedding Display to include an authentic wedding dress ( worn in 1942 ) complete with original pictures a 1940's style wedding cake and boquet, head dress etc.

During all events we will be having 1940's music playing and listen out for the air raid sirens! planes flying over, the ack ack and the occasional bomb going off.

For the Children there will be a 1940's quiz with a certificatre of excellence upon completion and for the younger children colouring in sheets all with a 1940's theme.

We can also show them some childrens games ie, spinning top, yoyo's marbles and much more.

There are more complicated pictures for the older children to colour in and a WW2 word search and crossword puzzle.

After our events everyone hopefully goes away happy, the children with a certificate to show their school and the parents , with a bit more Knowledge on what the Homefront was like in "Britain's Finest Hour"
